Joined by her new BFF Amy Schumer, Jennifer Lawrence got her revenge against Ricky Gervais Sunday night at the Golden Globes by delivering a joint appearance that outshined the host and was reminiscent of the previous Tina Fey and Amy Poehler era of the annual award show.
“Hello, I’m J.Law,” Lawrence said. “And I am A.Schu,” Schumer joked.
Lawrence told her that she can’t just give herself a nickname and asked what people usually call her. “Usually they just call me a cunt,” Schumer replied as NBC bleeped her out and panned to some shocked faces in the crowd.
After a few more jokes about Schumer’s crush on the Hemsworth brothers and what seemed to be a handful of inside jokes between the two, Lawrence said, “In all seriousness, as women in Hollywood, people have a lot of preconceived notions about us.”
“Yeah,” Schumer continued, “they are just like, oh, Jen and Amy, you’re so pretty and like everyone likes them and wants to hang out with them and, like, and they seem so fun to be around and, like, oh, they should be models.”
The movie the pair wrote together is coming soon and this Golden Globes appearance might as well be the first trailer.
