When nude pictures of Jenifer Lawrence were leaked online, the actress declared the hack a ‘sex crime’ and said that anyone who had viewed her pictures should ‘cower in shame.’
Less apocalyptically, the singer Demi Lovato has fired back at breathless stories that new leaked pictures of her are circulating on online porn sites with what can be best described as a giant ‘meh.’
Following the appearance of new private photographs of Lovato in the past few days that allegedly show her laying in bed while wearing an unzipped Adidas sweatshirt, the singer took to twitter to pour scorn on the hacker’s efforts and the resulting media furore.
“I love how everyone's freaking out about one picture. It's not nude and it's just cleavage,” Lovato tweeted, before adding that that ‘the world’ had already seen her nude when she appeared in Vanity Fair in 2015 for what the magazine termed a 'spontaneous make-up free' shoot.
The new pictures have been circulated after a number of other celebrities have seen stolen private pictures being published online. Emma Watson, Amanda Seyfried, Rose McGowan (who also took to social media to mock 'hacker boys') and a number of female wrestlers have all suffered private picture and video hacks in the past few days.
As well as the Adidas picture, a second photograph purportedly of Lovato has been floating around the Internet over the past few days, showing the lower half of a woman’s body.
Lovato is no doubt somewhat inured to hackers after her experience in 2014, when nude photos of the singer were posted on then-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama’s Twitter account after a hacker gained access.
