Everlane is known for their sustainable business practices and transparent pricing structure, but now they’re taking it one step further.
After deleting their entire Instagram presence, over the last few days they’ve been slowly announcing their brand new line, and brand new initiative. ReNew, a collection that takes recycled plastic bottles and turns them into puffer coats and fleeces is officially here.
In a press release, Everlane’s founder Michael Preysman had this to say about the new line and commitment to eliminate all virgin plastic in production by 2021: “In just 60 years, we’ve created eight billion tons of it. Plastic is poisoning our oceans, clogging landfills, and destroying the environment...There’s only one solution: Stop creating virgin plastic—and instead, renew what’s already here.”
The line features five styles of coats for women and three pullovers (two of which are fleece made with between 35 and 36 plastic bottles), plus three coats for men and two fleece pieces.
