It looks like we have a Canadian civil war on our hands.
Justin Bieber, the tatted, perma-teen plague, has offered himself up to a gaggle of comedians with his upcoming Comedy Central Roast, hosted by Kevin Hart. Now, he’s vying for the attention of one special funnyman to partake in the burning: Seth Rogen.
The aspiring model, who turned 21 recently, tweeted the following to his 61 million Beliebers, even making a Sony hack joke at the actor/filmmaker’s expense:
After radio silence from Rogen, Bieber—as is his wont—took it upon himself to troll his fellow Canadian on Twitter. He also apparently tracked down Rogen’s phone number and has inspired the now trending #WeWantSeth with all his highly impressionable Beliebers out there in the world.
Rogen hasn’t publicly responded to the Bieber invitation thus far, and their relationship seems to be a bit strained, to say the least. First, there was this doozy of a tweet he unleashed when news broke of Bieber’s DUI arrest:
Then, The Interview star explained his dislike of Bieber during a candid 2014 interview with Howard Stern.
“He's a good example of someone you meet, who you think you're going to hate, and then you get to hate him as much as you thought,” Rogen said. “You meet him, and he lives up to every one of your expectations of how you hope he will be.”
The pop prince responded with the following jab—misspelling Rogen’s name in the process.
Bieber has been a pretty good sport when it comes to jokes being tossed his way. After Kate McKinnon’s hilarious spoof of Bieber’s Calvin Klein ad on Saturday Night Live, the pop prince tweeted a succinct “well played. Lol” in reply to SNL’s tweet that included a pic of McKinnon giving her best butch Bieber pose. He was also spanked by host Zach Galifianakis on a memorable episode of Between Two Ferns.
We’re still waiting to see if Rogen will submit to the Bieber’s demands. Maybe if he serenades Rogen with a song he’ll say yes?
