Jamie Lee Curtis outed Colin Farrell as Hollywood COVID Superspreader.
At the 2025 SAG Awards on Sunday, Colin Farrell took home his first-ever SAG Award for “Best Male Actor in a Limited Series” for his role in Max’s The Penguin, a crime drama about the rise of Oz Cobb, from disfigured former right-hand man of a crime boss to Gotham’s most feared criminal kingpin.
Curtis took to the stage to present the award for the category. But before announcing Farrell as the winner, she playfully accused the actor of giving her COVID at the 2023 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Everything Everywhere All at Once.
“And the Actor goes to...the man who gave me COVID at the Golden Globes, Colin Farrell.”
When Farrell walked up to the stage to accept his award, he embraced the laughing Curtis before jokingly acknowledging the accusation.
“Guilty as charged,” he said, prompting laughter and cheers from the audience. Then, he shifted the blame, revealing who the true “superspreader” really was. “But Brendan Gleeson fucking gave it to me! So, I was just spreading the love.”
The interaction between Curtis and Farrell became one of the more memorable moments of the SAG awards, even garnering a shoutout on X about the awkward encounter from Netflix, the streaming platform that aired the event.
“Not over Jamie Lee Curtis calling out Colin Farrell here. #SAGAwards,” the post read.
From winning the Golden Globe to his first-ever SAG win, Farrell is amid one of the most critically successful award seasons of his career. Let’s just hope he’s spreading love this time, not COVID.
