"Plants make people happy" is the motto that The Sill and founder Eliza Blank run on. This plant mecca is a place for planters of all levels, from novice to expert. The Sill is a place for every kind of plant person to thrive, just like their greenery.
What is one thing that helps keep you motivated throughout the day?
People get me going. Whether it's my team, or my family (new Mom here), I know a big part of my role is supporting the people around me. I do my best to sit in every meeting and give the team my full attention. I have to stay focused throughout the day because once I get home my attention shifts 100% to my daughter. She's still so young though that bed time is 7pm — I can get back to work after that.
What's the last thing in your bag on your way out of your home on a work day?
Real talk, my breast pump accessories bag called the Pumparoo from Sarah Wells. You can also find it on Amazon (it's Prime). I also have the cooler bag for when I travel, but luckily my apartment is only a few blocks from the office. New Mom gear is seriously all about making life easier (because it's hard!) and is always top of mind. I literally can't leave home without it.
What's the best thing on your desk?
My plants, of course! Plants can increase creativity and productivity, while boosting your mood.
What’s something you bought for your yourself that you wish you had much sooner?
A new iPhone. I recently upgraded to the Xs. I was at least two generations behind and finally started to realize it was a productivity killer. Once I upgraded I instantly regretted not doing it sooner.
What’s the one thing you just can’t live without?
Jeans. I wear Madewell High-Rise Skinny Jeans pretty much all day, every day. I have half a dozen pairs at least in different washes. I love that you can count on Madewell to do denim well and I love that they have a recycling program and inclusive sizing.
