Victoria Jackson’s Greatest Hits

The former SNL cast member is running for local office in Tennessee. From her original songs about Obama’s communist ties to her conspiracy theories about the Muslim brotherhood, these are some of Jackson’s craziest moments.

It was only a matter of time before former SNL cast member-turned-rabid Tea Partier Victoria Jackson tried her hand at politics. After two years of spouting vitriol about the communist Obama administration, the false science of global warming, and the Muslim plot to infiltrate the U.S. government from every platform she could stand on, she’s now running for a seat on Tennessee’s Williamson County commission. In honor of Jackson’s first bid for elected office, here’s a look back at some of her craziest, uh, greatest hits.

Her Original Song About Obama’s Communist Tyranny

Eighteen years after taking her final bow at SNL, Jackson graced a new stage—this time at a tax day Tea Party rally—and re-introduced herself to the world as a multiple hairbow-wearing, ukulele-playing conspiracy theorist. “My husband really misses me, my parents think I’ve gone crazy,” she sang. “Only Glenn Beck understands me, because there’s a communist living in the White House!”

Her Anti-Gay Rant Against Glee

In March 2011, Jackson was positively disgusted by the first on-screen kiss between Glee’s two main gay characters and took to her WorldNetDaily column to declare the episode “sickening!” She continued on: “And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians—again! I wonder what their agenda is?” Jackson was later invited to elaborate on her reaction on Showbiz Tonight and simply ranted further.

“It doesn’t matter what I think. What matters is what the Bible says,” she said. “And I’m really concerned about our country because immorality is, well, let’s see: secular humanism rules the airwaves, and it’s stealing the innocence away from this whole generation of children. My daughter is a teenager and I can’t find any show that she can watch.”

She continued, making less sense as she went along: “They should have a celibacy campaign and tell kids that 50 percent of teenagers now have this new STD from oral sex, that’s what they should try to be doing instead of making kids gay.” Who is “they”? The gays? The Muslims who she hates (we’ll get to that below) and who she claims kill gays? We’re not quite sure.

Her Crazed Letter to Gloria Estefan

Shortly after Jackson’s anti-gay Glee rant, Perez Hilton posted a previously unpublished open letter she had written to Gloria Estefan. Submitted to the Miami Herald in 2010, which, understandably, chose not to publish it, the letter criticised everyone’s favorite Cuban-American singer for supporting President Obama.

Lucky for us, Perez Hilton’s standards are not as high as the Miami Herald’s so we got to enjoy Jackson’s list of all the reasons why “America is now under siege by a Marxist, progressive, leftist, radical, socialist, communist dictator drunk with power,” thanks, in part, to Gloria Estefan who invited him over to her house for a Democratic fundraiser that April.

Her Muslim Brotherhood Conspiracy Theories

In December 2011, Jackson joined some of her fellow conservative females on the online talk show PolitiChicks. She brought her ukulele and stole the show with her theories about how “the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government.” This rant is pretty difficult to summarize coherently, so probably best to just watch for yourself.

She has since claimed that “the nation of Islam wants to kill me,” that Valerie Jarrett is a Muslim, and gone on several other anti-Muslim rants.

Her White History Month Proposal

On the eve of Black History Month 2013, Jackson lamented the absence of a “White History Month” in an article that included a list of things she claims underappreciated white people invented and get no credit for, such as “rockets, space travel, airplanes, the automobile, the English language, the U.S.A., the most medical advances, electricity, television, telescope, microscope, Ivy League Universities, the computer, the Internet, and on and on.” Jackson deleted the article the same day she posted it.
