Two weeks after his release from detention, the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei is back at work, according to a Swiss gallery owner who represents him. “He is full of energy and again intensively dedicating himself to his artistic creation,” the owner, Urs Meile, tells The New York Times in an email. As a condition of his release, however, Ai may not give interviews or meet with journalists. The nature of his project is unknown; before his arrest, he was seeking to expose the Communist Party’s practice of paying Internet commentators to repeat government lines.
