Things are heating up in the Nevada Senate race, as Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid clashed in their first and only TV debate on Thursday. Republican challenger Angle laid in to Reid, challenging his personal wealth—to which Reid responded, “That's really kind of a low blow,” and claimed he was a “very successful” Las Vegas attorney prior to being a politician. Angle also challenged Reid on Social Security, taunting her opponent to “man up” on the issue. Since Angle is less known around Nevada due to the fact that she holds few public events and won’t speak to the local press, it was a rare opportunity for her to connect with voters outside of her string of negative ads. The hyper-conservative candidate reiterated her stance on opposing government health insurance to cover mammograms and claimed conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the man she admires most.
