Karl Lagerfeld has waded back into the ‘Is-Pippa-Fit?’ debate.

The Kaiser, attentive readers will recall, recently commented that he didn’t like 'Pippa’s face’, and she should ‘only show her back’, but now, he’s seeking to retract those comments, albeit with all the tact of Mitt Romney.

'I didn't mean that!’ he tells Grazia mag today, ‘I only meant I don't think her make-up is right; she has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another make-up for the eyes.'

The reporter went on to ask who Karl thought was the sexiest of the Middleton ladies.

Karl’s reply?

'I think Carole is very sexy. I think the mother is sexier than the daughters. There is something full of life about her. For a woman who must be 50 or so I think she's great. Full of energy.'
