The volcanic eruption in Iceland will, in fact, affect some travel in Europe Tuesday, as airlines halted flights in Scotland and could do so too in Northern England and Northern Ireland. Airports will, however, remain open and Britain’s transport secretary has promised no blanket closure, like last year. Norway too has said it will have flight restrictions on its west coast, as the ash cloud begins to spread over the country. Ryanair is protesting the British government’s decision to cancel flights to and from Scotland.
