Connecticut received the brunt of the blow, with Long Island and Boston close behind—both recording roughly two feet. New York City was not hit as hard as experts had predicted. A meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Suffolk County said the storm was record-breaking in more places than one—likely to "rank in the top five worst storms" in multiple areas.
