Nadal Wins U.S. Open

Sweet victory in rainy Flushing Meadows, Queens: Rafael Nadal secured a piece of history Monday night, beating Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open and sealing his career Grand Slam. Nadal, 24, who is the top-seeded men’s player, overpowered Djokovic 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. This was Nadal’s first U.S. Open victory, elevating him to become the seventh man in history to win the set of Grand Slam titles—Wimbledon, the French Open, Australian Open, and U.S. Open. Nadal has won a total of nine Grand Slam titles.
