Kucinich Settles Olive-Pit Lawsuit

Finally, we can all start getting on with our lives. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) announced Friday he’s settled his lawsuit against the operators of the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria, which he’d filed after splitting a tooth on a rogue olive pit hidden inside a sandwich wrap. The olive pit apparently did substantial damage, splitting the tooth “through the crown and the tooth, below the level of the bone,” after which the damage only snowballed. In his announcement, Kucinich included a detailed account of his injuries—which included “intestinal obstruction and emergency medical intervention”—and of the substantial work required to rectify the issue.
