Syria Detains 10,000 Protesters

The Syrian crackdown shows no signs of abating: The New York Times says 10,000 demonstrators have been detained in the past few days. Meanwhile, tanks shelled the nation’s third-largest city, Homs, focusing their fire on a residential district Wednesday. The Syrian government has widened its offensive in recent days, including to several villages in the country’s south.
