Rory McIlroy Sets U.S. Open Record

    The next Tiger Woods, but hopefully minus the sex scandal? Rory McIlroy, 22, made quite a start in his quest for his first major championship this week: He shot an astonishing 13 under par through his first 35 holes at Maryland's Congressional Country Club, more strokes under than any player has ever been at any point in a U.S. Open. McIlroy had a double bogey on the 18th hole Friday, so he had to settle for finishing with a 66, 11 under par and six strokes ahead of second-place Y.E. Yang. “I don’t really know what to say … It’s been two very, very good days of golf,” the Northern Irishman said.
