Angelia Jolie Visits Libyan Refugees

Angelina Joile visited Libyan refugees in Lampedusa on Sunday, as the tiny island continues to swell with those fleeing unrest. The actress, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N High Commissioner for Refugees, thanked the Italian island’s residents for welcoming the nearly 20,000 migrants, as some remain uneasy about the influx. "It is very hard to imagine looking out at this beautiful sea how many people have risked their lives,” said Jolie, speaking as part of Monday’s commemorations for World Refugee Day. U.N. Chief Antonio Guterres and Pope Benedict XVI also made statements Sunday in an effort to urge Europe to open its doors to war-beaten refugees.
