Perry Gives State Aid to Big Donors

    Over the years,Texas Gov. Rick Perry has doled out state aid to his most generous donors—and the businesses they own. Perry is known as an impressive fundraiser, but a New York Times review of Perry's office shows that one of his most successful fundraising tools is the state government he heads. For example, investors in G-Con, a pharmaceutical company, have given tens of thousands of dollars to Perry's campaign, and in turn an economic development fund led by Perry's office handed $3 million to the company in 2010.
