Explosion in Iran Kills 17

    An explosion at a Revolutionary Guards weapons depot in Iran killed 17 soldiers Saturday, Iranian state TV reported. Among the dead was Commander Hassan Tehrani Moqadam, a specialist in long-range missile research. There has been an increase in explosions at industrial sites in Iran in recent years, which some Iranians have suggested are acts of sabotage by the United States. However, a Guards spokesman said the explosion was accidental, and denied it had anything to do with a nuclear warhead, as some reports had indicated.
