Let’s hope the world doesn’t end: 2012 started with a splash, as one million partiers gathered in New York’s Times Square. Revelers included Lady Gaga and Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who kissed on ABC when the ball dropped. The New York Daily News says the turnout was “a possible record.”
