Experts: Expect Extreme Weather

It hasn’t been a fun summer for the U.S. so far—many Americans are pining for the cooler days of April amidst a wave of unrelenting heat, widespread drought, and out-of-control wildfires. But according to climate researchers, we better get used to it: as the planet warms, we’re in for more summers like this. While climate science is too complicated for researchers to directly link the current misery to climate change, the current chaos lines up neatly with what they’ve been predicting for years. “What we're seeing really is a window into what global warming really looks like,” said one climate and international affairs expert. “It looks like heat. It looks like fires. It looks like this kind of environmental disasters.”
