The Washington Post is standing by its man. In an editorial published on Thursday, the paper endorsed President Obama for a second term, arguing that the achievements of his first term outweigh “the disappointments.” And they certainly don’t go easy on Mitt Romney. “What kind of case has Mr. Romney made for himself?” the editors ask. “The sad answer is there is no way to know what Mr. Romney really believes. His unguarded expression of contempt for 47 percent of the population seems as sincere as anything else we’ve heard, but that’s only conjecture.”
