No ‘welfare-mom’ bashing here. President Obama proudly included “social-welfare programs” on a list of 29 of his accomplishments in an email sent to supporters on Thursday.
No. 9 on the list reads: “His tax cuts, social-welfare programs,
and economic policies lifted nearly 7 million Americans above
the federal poverty line in 2010.” Mitt Romney has repeatedly hammered Obama on the growth of welfare. A recent Romney campaign ad said, “Under Obama, millions of people can’t find work. And more families on welfare and a record number of Americans on food stamps.”
