Doctors in Puerto Rico said Thursday that they declared boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho brain-dead after performing a battery of tests on the athlete. Camacho, 50, was shot in the face Tuesday night while sitting in a car with a friend outside of a bar. Police found 10 bags of cocaine in the car. The friend did not survive the attack. Camacho’s family must now decide whether to take him off life support. Doctors initially believed they could save Camacho but the bullet severed three of four arteries in his neck, cutting off oxygen to his brain.
