    Obama Picks White as SEC Head

    It’s the Oscar and Obama nomination season! Ex–federal prosecutor Mary Jo White is President Obama’s nomination to head the Securities and Exchange Commision. White spent nine years in the Southern District of New York. The SEC serves as a watchdog over Wall Street and corporate finances. The current SEC chief is Elisse Walter, who is finishing the term of Mary Schapiro, who resigned in December.
