Blizzard Bombards Northeast

In the aftermath of 'Nemo,' danger still looms for those in some regions, where citizens endured a pounding of up to three feet of snow. In all, the storm is estimated to have affected more than 40 million people. At this point, only a handful of lives have been reported lost due to the blizzard. Connecticut received the brunt of the blow, with Long Island and Boston close behind—both recording roughly two feet. New York City was not hit as hard as experts had predicted. A meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Suffolk County said the storm was record-breaking in more places than one—likely to "rank in the top five worst storms" in multiple areas.
