Actor Dennis Farina, who served as a police officer in Chicago for 18 years before playing one on Law & Order, died Monday in Arizona. He was 69. He suffered from a blood clot in his lung. Farina was born in Chicago in 1944 and appeared in the films Get Shorty, Snatch, and What Happens in Vegas. In 2004 he joined the final cast of Law & Order, as Detective Joe Fontana. He also was a regular on the HBO series Luck in 2011 and 2012.
