At least three people were killed Wednesday when the part of the stadium that will hold the World Cup in 2014 collapsed. The people were killed when a crane collapsed atop a metal structure on the top of the building, causing metal structure to buckle and destroy part of the stands. The Itaquerao Stadium had been nearly completed to meet FIFA’s December 2012 deadline to have all 12 venues ready.
