Kimye Weds In Lavish Italian Affair

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are to marry in a chateau near Paris before heading to Florence. Some 1,600 guests have been invited to the Chateau d'Usse, a Renaissance dwelling southwest of Paris, for the May 24 wedding ceremony, Florence newspaper la Nazione reported. From there the celebrity pair and their guests will head to the Italian city, where they have rented the Forte Belvedere -- a 16th-century fortress -- for their wedding party. AFP PHOTO / -

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made it official Saturday in an uber-lush, high-security ceremony at a 16th Century Italian castle. The wedding festivities included a performances by David Blaine and Lana Del Ray and a rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles. Kimye garnered quite the celebrity guest lists, including John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen. West's wedding toast reportedly included these charming (?) remarks that everyone was probably already thinking, anyway: "Kim's way more beautiful than I am talented.” This is the first marriage for West, 36, and very much not the first for Kardashian, 33. She was married to music producer Damon Thomson in 2000 and famously wed NBA player Kris Humphries in a reality TV spectacular in 2011. That lasted 72 days.
