Television favorite James Garner was found dead Saturday night at the age of 86 in his Los Angeles home. Born James Bumgarner in Norman, Oklahoma, he first rose to fame in the 1950's with his early television classic, Maverick. He managed to score another seminal television hit decades later with The Rockford Files, which ran from 1974 to 1980. He appeared in a number movies, as well, though Millennials may know him best for his tearjerking performance in The Notebook. Overall, Garner's career spanned over five decades and earned him two Emmys and 15 nominations, as well as an Academy award nomination.
