Apparently officials weren't that into Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad's recent attempts to buff up, as they stripped him of his medal after he stripped off his shirt upon winning the 3,000-meter race at the European championship. This was his third straight victory in the event, and the crowd in Zurich booed him as he approached the finish line. So the Frenchman took off his shirt, put it into his mouth, and waved. Spain, whose runner finished fourth, appealed the mere warning Mekhissi-Benabbad got, and so he was disqualified. In 2012, he was criticized for shoving a mascot who tried to give him a present, and the year before he got into a fight with a teammate on the track.
