It wasn't enough for Eddie Gonzalez to simply get on Florida's ballot for Congress, he needed to plug his website as well. But when the Florida Department of State refused to allow anything but the candidate's name on the general-election ballot, Gonzalez did something drastic. He went to a judge in Miami and had his name legally changed to "VoteforEddie.com." It's not clear whether VoteforEddie.com thought this life-changing move all the way through. By the time voters have made it to the booth, there really isn't much time to check out a candidate's website before they cast their ballot, not to mention the confusion voters unfamiliar with Gonzales will face when they are presented with the option of electing a website.
