Up to 11 people have been injured at an explosion at the Kleen Energy Systems plant in Middletown, Connecticut. Homeowners up to 10 miles away thought the explosion was an earthquake before seeing black smoke rise from the power plant, reports The Hartford Courant. Emergency personnel are still arriving at the site, and at least 100 people could have been working at the time of the accident. A witness from across the Connecticut River said the plant looked like it was substantially leveled, and another described the explosion as feeling like a car had crashed into his home.
