Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner

Here’s something to wrap your head around: Hugh Hefner’s oldest child was born 34 years before his fiancée. That makes 2009 Playmate of the Month Crystal Harris 60 years younger than husband-to-be Hef. But for this unconventional pair, the engagement is a déjà vu—the two were engaged in 2011, but Harris left Hefner five days before their big day. The pair seem to have made amends, and the age difference is just a laugh: “I have to keep up with him!” Harris said of the Playboy founder.

Divorced: Alexa Vega and Sean Covel

The From Prada to Nada star wed the film producer behind Napoleon Dynamite two years ago. He’s 13 years her senior. Their relationship seemed to be smooth, until Vega recently filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. But that hasn’t stopped her from feeling down. “I am right where I want to be. I couldn’t be happier,” she tweeted, on the day TMZ announced her divorce.

Divorced: Jamie-Lynn Sigler and A.J. DiScala

The Sopranos star wed her manager when she was 21 and he was 31 years old. After two years of marriage, the couple called it quits. Following her divorce, Sigler told People magazine, “I basically went from being in high school and having my parents take care of me to A.J. being that caretaker.” Now she doesn’t have any hard feelings. “I still love him very much. I know he loves me. It’s just what's best for both of us.”

Divorced: Olivia Wilde and Tao Ruspoli

At 19 years old, the House actress wed the son of an Italian prince, Ruspoli, who was then 27. She was never very open about her marriage, and Wilde  divorced her husband after eight years together. Ever since, she’s been quite unguarded about how the divorce has helped her in life. “It makes you a more empathetic person, and I think it’s made me a better actress. Weakness is something we don’t like to admit we have. We hold it against people, until we experience it, and then we feel more compassion for it,” she admitted to Marie Claire.

Divorced: Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas

The Cover Girl abruptly married the Welsh-born Los Angeles bar owner in 1994. “I know people will think I’ve slipped, that they will pass judgment and won’t understand,” the actress said during her wedding champagne toast. “But I’ve never been more in control of my life than I am now,” she told People.  Unfortunately, her marriage to Thomas lasted a mere two months.

Divorced: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey

Famous for their MTV reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, the pop stars wed in 2002 when Simpson was 22 and Lachey was 29. While these two had their ups and downs like any couple, they ultimately divorced three years later. “It was hard to imagine I would ever walk down the aisle again. You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself. Once you do that, you feel complete—and that’s the only time you can truly fall in love again, and give yourself over completely to another person,” Simpson told Glamour. Simpson is now engaged to professional football player Eric Johnson and recently welcomed baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson.

Still Together: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

Another famous MTV reality-show couple, these two from The Hills married young and are known to have an on-again-off-again kind of relationship. Montag and Pratt quietly unofficially eloped in Mexico in November 2008. About five months later, the couple officially married at Montag’s Presbyterian church near Los Angeles. She was 22, and he was 25. After one year of marriage, Montag filed for separation. In ‘Spiedi’ fashion, the pair is back together, always posing for paparazzi when they can.

After more than seven years of marriage, Witherspoon filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. But she later found love with Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth. “I feel so much relief,” Reese said to Marie Claire. Yet she was nervous about something else. “I don’t think I recognized how anxious I was about being a single parent. It was really, really stressful. It’s not easy on anybody.”

The show debuts on E! on Aug. 19 at 10 p.m. Here’s hoping the show doesn’t come between them and their marriage.
