Music producer Phil Ramone, who worked with Frank Sinatra, Barba Streisand, and Ray Charles, among others, died Saturday morning after a monthlong hospitalization for an aortic aneurysm. He was 72. In his time in the music business, Ramone was nominated for 33 Grammys and won 14, including awards for Paul Simon’s album Still Crazy After All These Years. Seen as a pioneer in the music world, he produced the original Broadway-cast album of Promises, Promises as well as Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks and seven of Billy Joel’s albums over several decades.
