OH REALLY?

Nets May Become Russian

Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov repeated his claim Monday that he plans to move the company managing the Brooklyn Nets to Russia. Prohkorov was speaking at a ceremony where he was decorated by President Vladimir Putin for his support for the Sochi Olympics. The Kremlin has recently called for Russian businessmen to bring assets back to Russia to fight U.S. sanctions. The Nets are the fifth most valuable NBA franchise, with an estimated value of $780 million. Prokhorov himself has not been targeted by U.S. sanctions. The NBA responded to Prokhorov's comments on Monday, issuing a statement saying, “We have received no application nor is there a process underway through our office to transfer the ownership of the Nets to another company.”
