That’s not bad for a day’s work. President Obama is expected to haul in at least $4 million for his reelection effort on Thursday. The president will be in New York City to participate in four events, including a reception at the home of major Clinton backers Sarah and Victor Kovner. After the reception, the president will head to ABC Kitchen for a dinner with several heavy-hitting donors. Another reception held at ABC Carpet & Home—hosted by Deepak Chopra, rapper Russell Simmons, and chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, among others—will feature the music of Ben Folds and the Roots. Republicans are mocking the ABC event, which is being held at a place that sells things like $18,000 rugs. Finally, the president will head to a dessert reception hosted by News Corp. executive Peter Chernin, actress Mariska Hargitay, designer Michael Kors, and Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, who has already raised hundreds of thousands for the Obama campaign.
