Proenza Schouler’s Spring Summer 2012 collection, which showed during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night, was a tour-de-force of color and texture. It was inspired by the Googie Architecture of the 1940s: a style born from Southern Californian car culture that came to encompass everything from the Seattle Space Needle at the World’s Fair to The Jetsons. The Daily Beast’s Kevin Tachman went backstage to capture the minutes before the show.
