Russian President Vladimir Putin is the target of the latest center spread of French satire magazine Charlie Hebdo, titled “The Whole World Loves Putin.” Just days after Putin’s inner circle cited Boris Nemtsov’s support for the magazine as a possible motive for religious extremists killing him, the magazine portrays Putin as Nemtsov’s killer. His grave is added to a row that begins with opposition journalist Anna Politkovskaya and ex-KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko. The spread also portrays Putin in a typically crude manner: One sketch shows the president with a penis for a head, while another depicts him and the head of the Russian Orthodox church worshipping the FSB crest. A third panel shows the notoriously homophobic Putin engaged in a three-way with Marine Le Pen and Gérard Depardieu.
