An unnamed U.S. news media organization has been threatened by the Sony hackers, according to an FBI bulletin obtained by The Intercept. The bulletin states that threats over the release of the film The Interview “have extended to USPER2—a news media organization—and may extend to other such organizations in the near future.” The bulletin also noted a recent posting by the Guardians of Peace on Pastebin (a Web tool for anonymous postings) that mocked the FBI’s investigation. Recent reports have expressed skepticism that the Sony hack was carried out by North Korea alone. The FBI has publicly said Pyongyang is “centrally responsible.”
