A team of professors and students from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki recently discovered a 2,000-year-old statue of Hercules at an excavation in the city of Philippi in Greece, Artnet reports. The statue, which, according to experts, dates back to 2 A.D., depicts Hercules carrying a lion’s pelt, a wreath of leaves and a club. Hercules, famous for his mythical strength, could certainly handle the load.
