Police in Terrell, Texas, captured early Tuesday the man suspected of shootings at four homes and a convenience store on Monday. Charles Everett Brownlow, Jr. 36, was arrested in a wooded area near Highway 80, police chief Jody Lay said. Brownlow’s arrest came after an intense manhunt after a series of grisly discoveries throughout the day, starting with the body of a woman shot in the head at home. At 10 p.m., shots were fired at another home—luckily injuring no one—and a man matching Brownlow’s description was seen fleeing. Thirty minutes later, another shooting was reported at another home where a man and woman were found dead, but a three-year-old was still alive. Less than 15 minutes later, another man was found dead at a convenience store. Police tracked Brownlow to the woods, where he was hiding in a ditch.
