Utah Democratic voters on Tuesday nominated the first-known transgender U.S. Senate candidate ever for a major party. Misty Snow will challenge incumbent Republican Sen. Mike Lee in November. Snow and Misty Plowright, a transgender woman who on Tuesday claimed the Democratic nomination in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, are the two first transgender people to run for Congress.
