Volkswagen announced on Monday a recall of 1,950 diesel vehicles in China in the wake of an emissions cheating scandal. The recall applies to imported Tiguan sport utility vehicles and four Passat B6 sedans in China, where Volkswagen is the one of the top foreign brands in the world's biggest auto market. The German auto maker said technical solutions were being developed to correct engine software, known as "defeat devices," that switch on pollution controls when cars undergo on emissions tests. The solutions had yet to be submitted to Chinese authorities for approval, the company said.
