Google’s interactive logo on Tuesday, which scattered into dozens of little balls whenever you scrolled over it, got the tech world wondering: Could this somehow be a preview of the big search event the company has planned for Wednesday? (Google has pretty much confirmed that the two are related.) Tech bloggers are expecting the company will announce some serious changes to their search engine. Speculation includes: search-results pages based on AJAX, which will allow pages to refresh automatically without the user having to click a button; and a “streaming” search results page based on Google Suggest so that, rather than just a drop-down box that predicts your search inquiry as you type it, Google will actually show and refine the full search results in every stage as it tries to predict your inquiry.
