The Trump campaign spent $7.7 million between the beginning of July and the end of September, more than doubling its spending over the past three months. The New York Times reports most of the money went to “digital, radio and television advertising.” Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by the newspaper also show the campaign paid law firm Jones Day $1.3 million. The firm is handling the campaign’s election compliance and representing the campaign in the probes related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. The campaign also reportedly paid firm Mintz Levin $173,000, as that firm is helping Trump’s first campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, “handle inquiries related to the Russia investigations.”
