Of the 295 people aboard the Malaysia Airlines 777 that crashed in Ukraine, several were bound for a major AIDS conference in Melbourne, Australia. Among the researchers, health-care workers, and activists who have been identified: Dr. Joep Lange, a pioneering Dutch scientist who worked on the virus for 30 years.
