Amanda Knox, twice convicted and twice acquitted of the murder of British roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, posted a bizarre photo on her Instagram feed from a Victorian-themed “murder mystery party” she attended with her fiancé. “A priceless painting goes missing and the owner is found both poisoned and stabbed,” Knox wrote in the post. “And would you believe it, I, the Countess of Lovelace, am accused. Also acquitted, all in 4 hours. Better than 4 years.”

Italy’s high court definitively acquitted Knox, now 31, and her erstwhile Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito of Kercher’s murder in March 2015. The two were originally found guilty of the murder in 2009, but their convictions were overturned on appeal two years later. Italy’s high court then reversed the acquittals and ordered a new trial in which they were convicted again before Italy’s high court threw out the case. Knox remains convicted of falsely accusing her then-boss Patrick Lumumba of Kercher’s murder in the early days of the investigation. In January of this year, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that Italy should pay Knox $20,000 for not offering her an impartial translator or a lawyer when she was first arrested, falling far short of the $3 million she requested. The European court did not rule that Italian authorities treated her inhumanely.
