Tennis legend Serena Williams, determined to clinch an eighth Wimbledon crown Saturday just 10 months after giving birth, had her hopes dashed by Germany's Angelique Kerber. Kerber won her first Wimbledon title and third Grand Slam title with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Williams. Williams, 36, graciously accepted her defeat and praised Kerber as an “incredible person.” “I can’t be disappointed. I have so much to look forward to. I’m literally just getting started,” Williams said. “To all the moms out there, I was playing out there for you today and I tried,” she said.
