Blinken: U.S. Got Some Intel on Israeli Claim About Hamas Tie to Gaza Media Building

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that the U.S. “received some further information through intelligence channels” about Israel’s claim that Hamas had a presence inside a Gaza media building that was destroyed by an airstrike. The update came two days after Blinken said he had received no such evidence; he did not provide any details. Israeli officials had insisted that the U.S. government had seen—and accepted—evidence tying Hamas to the building that housed the Gaza offices of the Associated Press and Al Jazeera. The top AP editor, Sally Buzbee, called for an independent investigation into the airstrike.
