The update came two days after Blinken said he had received no such evidence; he did not provide any details. Israeli officials had insisted that the U.S. government had seen—and accepted—evidence tying Hamas to the building that housed the Gaza offices of the Associated Press and Al Jazeera. The top AP editor, Sally Buzbee, called for an independent investigation into the airstrike.
